HI Cravings Opens a Shop at Ka Makana Ali‘i

KAPOLEI, HI (September 7, 2017) – Equipped with a full menu and more seating, HI Cravings opened a shop at Ka Makana Ali‘i this September. Its new storefront is located near Applebee’s and is continuing to serve up its well-known customizable acai bowls.

HI Cravings moved from their space under the food tent in the Macy’s Wing to a shop on September 6. Since its start in 2013, HI Cravings has become famous for its acai bowls with fresh fruits and unique toppings that range from vanilla chips to bee pollen, condensed milk, local pa‘i‘ai, cookie dough, and more.

Also known as Jess Da Best Acai Bowls, HI Cravings began in October 2013 when owner Jessica Kamana‘o and her husband Kalani moved to Kapolei and started selling her acai bowls from their garage. Within a few months there was a line down the sidewalk and a wait of more than an hour. In early 2014, Kamana‘o had to stop operating from her house and instead did drop- offs until she opened her first shop in Kapolei in April 2014. HI Cravings has since evolved with two locations — one in Ka Makana Ali‘i and one downtown in Union Mall. The Kamana‘o’s continue to look for opportunities to give back to the local community, participating in fundraisers and special events.

HI Cravings will be open from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Ka Makana Ali‘i.
