Ka Makana Ali‘i Celebrates Make Music Hawai‘i Day with Keiki Activities, Giveaways & Live Performances
The Center-wide celebration of music kicks off on Monday, June 21 from 4 to 8 p.m.
KAPOLEI, HI (June 21, 2021) — Ka Makana Ali‘i is pleased to celebrate Make Music Hawai‘i Day on Monday, June 21 with keiki activities, giveaways and live music performances at Mahi‘ai Table and Moani Island Bistro & Bar. Make Music Day is a worldwide music celebration held annually. This Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., the Center for West O‘ahu will host a Center-wide celebration of music.

The community is invited to enjoy music and dance with pop-up hula performances by Halau Hula ‘o Hokulani from 4 to 5:45 p.m., followed by DJ Becky Mits from 6 to 8 p.m. Makana Kids are invited to play spin-the-wheel and score groovy giveaways, coloring sheets and prizes like small tambourines, mini microphones, and more. The community is also invited to participate in a music-themed scavenger hunt around the Center. Follow the music notes and text the keywords on each for a chance to win prizes from Ka Makana Ali‘i shops and restaurants, and an ukulele from Kalena Instruments. Make dinner plans for the ‘ohana at Mahi‘ai Table for Make Music Day. Explore the new dinner menu, and enjoy live music by Keilana from 5 to 8 p.m. Head over to Moani Island Bistro & Bar and check out live music by Izik from 5 to 8 p.m. For those who prefer to make their own music, Kalena Instruments offers a wide selection of musical instruments and accessories, as well as private music lessons. Kalena Instruments is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For musical gifts and toys to help infants and toddlers get their groove on, visit Thinker Toys expanded new store from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the ‘Ōlino Theatre wing of the Center.
