KAPOLEI, HI (November 15, 2017) – To kick off the holiday festivities, Ka Makana Ali‘i will present a $1 million check to Hale Kipa, a community organization that provides opportunities and environments that strengthen and encourage youth, their families and communities to actualize their potential and social responsibility.

For more than 46 years, Hale Kipa has been “the house of friendliness” to thousands of Hawaii’s runaways and homeless youth who have needed a place to stay and someone to talk to. Since 1970 Hale Kipa has provided shelter and other services to more than 40,000 youth.

The festivities continue with a countdown to light Santa's Grove and entertainment by Storybook Hawaii characters, Cubby Bear of Cubby Caboose and Impact Dance Studio. Bring the keiki for arts and crafts, balloons, glitter tattoos, a meet and greet with Storybook Hawaii characters and to take photos with Santa.
