Ka Makana Ali‘i Hosts Merry Shop & Strolls with Santa, Holiday Happenings for the Whole ‘Ohana at the Center for West O‘ahu
Bring the keiki for photos with Santa, Merry Shop & Stroll events, a magical snowing tree, extended holiday shopping hours and more!
KAPOLEI, HI (December 12, 2023) — Ka Makana Ali‘i is pleased to host a variety of holiday happenings for the community that has embraced it as the Center for West O‘ahu. The whole ‘ohana is invited to enjoy photos with Santa, Merry Shop & Stroll events, a magical snowing tree, extended holiday shopping hours and weekly entertainment.
Every Wednesday night until Christmas, Ka Makana Ali‘i is hosting its Merry Shop & Stroll events, a series of theme nights with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Guests who dress in theme can receive 10% off a holiday photo packages with Santa. ‘Ohana can enjoy the keiki activities, face painting, glitter tattoos, balloon twisting, character appearances, entertainment, and support small businesses at the Farmers Market. Each theme night will also include a special gift with purchase promotion. The free, festive events will be held every Wednesday, Dec. 13 and 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with the following themes:
- Wednesday, Dec. 13: FAM PAJAM-BOREE - Bring the entire 'ohana in PJs for a fun-filled family evening event!
- Wednesday, Dec. 20: MOVIE MAGIC - Dress as your favorite A-lister or movie character.

Now through Christmas Eve, keiki can bring their wish lists to Santa in his sleigh between Zales and Sephora. Mrs. Clause is also available for photos on weekdays and during the Center’s Merry Shop & Stroll events. Keepsake holiday portrait packages start at $35. The community can skip the line and book an appointment in advance online at www.kamakanaalii.com. Additionally, Ka Makana Ali‘i’s magical snowing tree is now up in the Macy’s wing with daily gingerbread-scented snowfalls for 15 minutes every half hour from 4 to 7:15 p.m., weather permitting.
The Center for O‘ahu is also hosting a holiday concert program. On Wednesday, Dec. 13, the community is invited to join Ukulele Project Hawaii at 5:30 p.m. at Center Court followed by a celebration of hula and mele with award-winning Hālau Hula ‘O Hokulani. Shoppers on Friday, Dec. 15 will be serenaded by preschool through sixth grade students of The Children’s House as they perform their Christmas concert from 10 to 11 a.m. at Center Court. And from 7 to 8 p.m., Maili Bible School will take the stage for an evening of song.
On Saturday, Dec. 16, ‘Ohana Motorsports Foundation is hosting its Cars & Coffee event from 9 to 11 a.m. at the parking lot near California Pizza Kitchen and ‘Ōlino Theatres. Then, from 12 to 8 p.m., the community is invited to shop and be rewarded with a special tiered gift with purchase. Spend more and get more! Spend $175, get a $20 Ka Makana Ali‘i gift card. Spend $250, get $40 in Ka Makana Ali‘i gift cards. Spend $300, get $60 in Ka Makana Ali‘i gift cards. Restrictions apply. And from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Center Court, experience Streetlight Cadence in concert. The dynamic acoustic trio will sing and showcase their musical talents on banjo, violin, guitar and cajon, and give shoppers a sneak peek of their new television show.
Honolulu Wind Ensemble will grace Center Stage on Sunday, Dec. 17 from 5 to 6 p.m. to play holiday pop and classics. Ka Makana Ali‘i’s holiday concert program concludes on Friday, December 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. with Ewa Beach Music Academy on Center Stage.
Ka Makana Ali‘i is also offering extended holiday hours for all its last-minute holiday shoppers. Starting on Friday, Dec. 15 through Saturday, Dec. 23, the Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Sunday, Dec. 24, Ka Makana Ali‘i will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is closed on Christmas Day, Monday, Dec. 25 and reopens on Tuesday, Dec. 26 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. On New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day (Sunday, Dec. 31 & Monday, Jan. 1), the Center is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
