Ka Makana Ali‘i Hosts Merry Shop & Strolls with Santa, Holiday Happenings for the Whole ‘Ohana at the Center for West O‘ahu

Bring the ‘ohana for photos with Santa, Merry Shop & Strolls, Black Friday deals, a Shop Local Weekend gift with purchase, a magical snowing tree, and extended holiday shopping hours!

KAPOLEI, HI (Nov. 25, 2024) — Ka Makana Ali‘i is pleased to host a variety of holiday happenings for the community that has embraced it as the Center for West O‘ahu. The whole ‘ohana is invited to enjoy photos with Santa, Black Friday deals, Surprise and Delight giveaways, Shop Local Saturday gift with purchase, a country Christmas concert series, Merry Shop & Stroll events, the magical snowing tree, and extended holiday shopping hours.

Ka Makana Ali‘i is singing in the holidays with a KMA Country Christmas Concert Series starting on Black Friday, Nov. 29, when Bobby Moderow takes center stage from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.   The celebrating continues with country music and line dancing with Dita Holifield and Friends on Friday, Dec. 6 and Friday, Dec. 13 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

All the way from the North Pole, Santa is ready in his sleigh to meet keiki and review their wish lists now through Sunday, Dec. 29. Visit Santa in the Macy’s wing between Zales and Sephora. Mrs. Claus is also available for photos on weekdays and during the Center’s Shop & Stroll theme night events. Keepsake holiday portrait packages start at $35. Now through Dec. 22, Santa set hours are Monday through Friday from 2 to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with breaks from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. On Black Friday, Nov. 29 and from Dec. 23 to 29, Santa set hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with breaks from 2 to 3 p.m. The Santa photo set will be closed on Christmas, Dec. 25. Every Wednesday night between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Ka Makana Ali‘i is hosting its Shop & Stroll events, a series of theme nights with Santa and Mrs. Claus. ‘Ohana can enjoy live entertainment, photos with Santa, a special gift with purchase, costumed characters, photo ops, and goodies from participating stores. The free, festive events will be held every Wednesday on Dec. 4, 11 and 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. throughout the Center with the following themes:

  • December 4: Wishes & Wands — The community is invited to dress as their favorite magical movie character.
    • Special gift with purchase: Spend $125 or more and get a pair of ‘Ōlino screen saver movie passes.
  • December 11: Family Pajam-boree! — Celebrate Hawaii’s biggest pajama party at Ka Makana Ali‘i dressed comfy & cozy in your favorite pajamas! 
    • Special gift with purchase: Spend $125 or more and get a $15 gift card to The Cheesecake Factory
  • December 18th: Festive Fandoms — For those passionate about video games, devoted to a sports team, or an avid collector, the community is invited to dress up as their favorite fandom character or icon.

Additionally, Ka Makana Ali‘i’s magical snowing tree is up in the Macy’s wing through New Year’s Eve with daily snowfalls for 15 minutes every half hour from 4 to 7 p.m., weather permitting.

This Black Friday, Ka Makana Ali‘i is celebrating the shopping event of the year with extended Center hours, exclusive sales, giveaways, entertainment and more from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m!

The Center will be closed on Thanksgiving (Thursday, Nov. 28) and Christmas (Wednesday, Dec. 25), with select tenants remaining open. On Black Friday (Nov. 29), the Center will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. It will be open on Shop Local Saturday (Nov. 26), Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) and Thursday, Dec. 26, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. On New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day (Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Wednesday, Jan. 1), the Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
