Ka Makana Ali‘i Hosts Trick-or-Treating, Costume Contest For Keiki in West Oahu

The Center for West Oahu invites keiki to compete in a costume contest on
Saturday, Oct. 27 and return for trick-or-treating on Wednesday, Oct. 31

KAPOLEI, HI (October 25, 2018) — Ka Makana Ali‘i is excited to offer safe and family-friendly trick-or-treating to the West Oahu community this Halloween. Bring the keiki and explore the Center for West Oahu’s participating retailers and eateries that will be passing out goodies on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Prepare for Halloween with an afternoon of fun for the keiki on Saturday, Oct. 27. From 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Center Court, keiki can enjoy Halloween-themed crafts and activities and compete in a costume contest at 6 p.m. Keiki can create their own mini pumpkin or mummy garden with Once Again Hawaii Succulents. Rock a glitter tattoo or pick out a scary Halloween balloon character with Aloha Glitter Tattoos starting at 5:30 p.m., while supplies last.

Dress to impress at the Ka Makana Ali‘i costume contest starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Keiki will be split into age groups for judging — 0 to 4 years, 5 to 8 years and 9 to 12 years — with the contest limited to the first 150 registrants. Safety and security is a top priority at Ka Makana Ali‘i. All costume contest participants may wear their mask on stage only during the costume contest on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

On Oct. 27 and 31, all guests who enter Ka Makana Ali‘i wearing a scary, gory, inappropriate or clown costume or mask will be asked to remove it. The Center’s highly trained security staff will be in place to encourage an enjoyable and safe community celebration.
