KAPOLEI, HI (June 22, 2020) — The Center for West O‘ahu announces the opening of Hawaii Family Dental at The Grove at Ka Makana Ali'i. Its new, 3,900-square-foot, state-of-the-art dental office is nestled between PetSmart and Foodland Farms.
“We are very excited to welcome Hawaii Family Dental to the Ka Makana Ali‘i ‘ohana,” said Stephanie England, general manager at the Center. “The Grove is focused on creating a gathering place to promote healthy living in the West O‘ahu community. Hawaii Family Dental brings a new aspect of health and wellness to The Grove at Ka Makana Ali‘i, and we cannot wait to share it with the community that has embraced us as their Center.”
Dr. Franz Schuller has been practicing with Hawaii Family Dental since 2002, most recently in Ewa Beach. He has been included in Honolulu Magazine’s “Best Dentists in Hawai‘i” for five consecutive years. Dr. Caitlyn Armstrong joined Hawaii Family Dental in 2019 and is excited to treat patients in the Kapolei community. She is passionate about providing the very best dental care and has won numerous awards for her gentle, comfort-conscious dentistry. Dr. Joshua Westphal has been practicing pediatric dentistry with Hawaii Family Dental since 2017 and loves to make kids smile.
From general dentistry to pediatric dentistry, dentures, denture repair, preventative care and restoration, the Hawaii Family Dental staff cannot wait to serve the Kapolei community. Appointments are available beginning July 7. The practice is now accepting new patients.
To ensure the safety and well-being of its staff, patients and the community, Hawaii Family Dental is implementing the following practices:
- Health screenings: The office will contact patients to ask pre-screening questions before their visit as well as when they arrive at the office on the day of their appointment.
- If patients are exhibiting symptoms such as a fever, cough, or shortness of breath, the office will ask them to refrain from visiting and reschedule their appointment for a later date.
- Cleaning and hygiene: Cleanliness has always been one of Hawaii Family Dental’s highest priorities, and the office is taking the extra steps necessary to keep everyone safe. Staff will complete disinfecting sweeps by thoroughly cleaning all door handles, desk areas, and bathrooms with sanitizing wipes frequently throughout the day.
- Hand sanitizer will be available upon entering the office as well as in the reception area and patients will be asked to use both before and after their appointment. Magazines and children's toys will no longer be offered.
- Patients will be required to wear a face mask or covering, especially when in the reception areas or other areas with traffic.
- Social distancing: Hawaii Family Dental continues to abide by all CDC and ADA guidelines, and practices proper social distancing to further ensure everyone’s safety.
- Seating in the reception areas will be properly adjusted to meet social distancing guidelines, but patients may also be asked to wait outside the office or in their car if the reception area cannot accommodate them safely. Hawaii Family Dental also asks patients to not bring any food or drink into the office.
Founded in 1986, Hawaii Family Dental serves more than 60,000 patients and is the most- referred dental group in Hawaii. The Grove at Ka Makana Ali‘i will be its 13th location in Hawaii.
